Juniper Berries
Juniper is a coniferous, evergreen tree native to Europe, the Himalayas, southwestern Asia and North America. It can reach a height of up to 10-15 metres. The simple, spiny, needle like leaves grow in whorls of 3 around the slender twigs and are dark to glaucous green in colour and 1-2cm in length. The male and female flowers grow on different trees, and once pollinated give rise to green, spherical, berry like seed cones which take 18 months to ripen. Once ripe they change colour to purpley-black with a blue waxy coating and are 4–12mm in diameter. (18g).

Hibiscus Flowers
Description: Our hibiscus flowers come from the Roselle plant, native to India and Malaysia, where it is commonly cultivated. It has been successfully established throughout the Tropics and Subtropics of both hemispheres, and in many areas of the Caribbean and Central America. It is an annual, woody, shrub growing to a height of 2–2.5 metres. The leaves are deeply lobed, smooth and mid-green in colour, 8–15 cm in length. The flowers are 8–10 cm in diameter, white to pale yellow in colour with a dark red spot at the base of each petal, they have a stout fleshy calyx at the base of the flower, and it is these calyxes form part of the whole flowers sold. Caraway Seeds
Description: Caraway is a biennial herb often treated as an annual, which is native to Southern Europe, Asia and India, now cultivated in Russia, North Africa and the USA. It grows up to 20-80 cm in height and has flutted, branching stems. The leaves are alternate, petiolate, feathery, finely divided, mid-green in colour and 2-8cm in length. The tiny 5-petaled flowers are white to pale pink in colour are present in umbels comprised of 9-13 umbellets. The fruits also known as seeds have 5 ridges and are crescent shaped, nutty brown in colour and 2mm in length. The seeds have a nutty, delicate anise flavour and scent. (20g).

Fennel Seeds
Description: Fennel is an aromatic perennial herb native to Southern Europe and the Mediterranean and naturalised in northern Europe, Australia and North America. It grows between 1- 2.5 metres in height and has hollow, striated and sturdy stems which like the leaves are glaucous green in colour. The feathery leaves are alternate and tri-pinnately compound and can be up to 40-50cm in length. The entire flowers appear as umbels, terminally compound, each umbel comprised of 15-18 umbellets of tiny yellow flowers, and the entire flower head has a diameter of 6-15cm. The seeds are oval, fluted and are pale green in colour and between 4-8mm in length. (20g).
